Apuchesan Ludia is a 93-year-old is a homeless elderly woman and resident of Rwanda village in Barawa sub county Kapchorwa district living in a church house with her 19 year-old care taker. Ludia found herself homeless 2 years ago after Covid 19. She originally stayed in daughters home who passed away before she sought for assistance from the church members. Her only hope is her care taker and a few church members who provide her with food and a few basic needs. Ludia says she survives with the little food that her daughter can get through carrying out casual labour which is equally not enough. Besides lack of food, Ludia is elderly and suffers from different health issues including diabetes. disease with no proper medical care. Ludia says in past few months she had lost hope and only waited for the day God will call her. Through our community initiative of humanitarian aid in Kapchorwa district in November 2023, Ludia was identified by the community development officer took us to her home during the outreach program in Rwanda Village, 4.7 km from Barawa Sub County and 72.3 km from Kapchorwa municipality and is being supported. Ludia received counselling, and humanitarian aid which included food, soap and other household things from the proven foundation team. Ludia considers herself lucky considering the life stuations she has been through for the last 15 years. she is very happy that proven foundation has provided them with food aid and other items for home use through the proven foundation program of humanitarian aid. Ludia says proven foundation has been a blessing to her because of the support given. “I am so happy to see you and I feel healed, thank you for your support and putting a smile on my face. I have been feeling low but you have given me hope and support and iam grateful may God bless you.” She added that there are many old people like her deep in the mountains who die without any one taking care of them. She suggested that this program is good and should be taken to other sub counties in the district
