Program 3

Mental & Menstrual Health Support

Supporting the mental health of caregivers and promoting menstrual health education in underserved communities. We provide psychosocial support, training in reusable pad making, and GBV awareness campaigns.

Our Mental & Menstrual Health Support program addresses critical health gaps in rural communities, particularly for women and caregivers facing extreme stress and limited resources.

In communities affected by Nodding Disease Syndrome (NDS), caregivers—often mothers—experience severe mental strain from watching their children suffer. Our program provides psychosocial support and counseling to help these caregivers cope.

We also address menstrual health barriers that keep girls out of school by training women and girls in making reusable sanitary pads from locally available materials, ensuring sustainable access to menstrual products.

Program components include:

  • Psychosocial support for NDS caregivers
  • Menstrual health education and awareness
  • Reusable sanitary pad making training
  • GBV awareness and prevention campaigns
  • Community health outreach programs

What We Offer:

  • Mental health support for NDS caregivers
  • Menstrual health education for girls and women
  • Reusable sanitary pad making training
  • GBV awareness and prevention campaigns
  • Psychosocial counseling and support groups

Supportive Hands

Providing emergency relief and empowering widows, NDS victims, and GBV survivors through food distribution, skills training, and community support. This program ensures the most vulnerable families have access to food, basic necessities, and pathways to self-sufficiency.

The Supportive Hands program focuses on the most vulnerable members of our communities - widows, orphans, Nodding Disease Syndrome (NDS) victims and their caregivers, GBV survivors, and families facing emergency situations.

In Omoro District, NDS has devastated many families. Victims require constant care, and caregivers—often mothers—sacrifice everything to support their children. Our program provides food aid and support to these families.

We also support GBV victims through emergency relief and connecting them to legal and medical services, while empowering widows with skills training to build independent livelihoods.

Our comprehensive support includes:

  • Emergency food distribution to vulnerable families
  • Support for NDS victims and their caregivers
  • GBV victim support and referral services
  • Skills training for widows and vulnerable women
  • Community support group formation
  • Basic necessities during crises

What We Offer:

  • Emergency food packages for vulnerable families
  • Support for NDS victims and caregivers
  • GBV survivor support and referral services
  • Widow empowerment and skills training
  • Community support group formation
